    • What is LIVE LEBANON about?

    LIVE LEBANON is about the future of Lebanon. It exists so that the people and nation of Lebanon can prosper and flourish. LIVE LEBANON is about creating much-needed jobs, rebuilding destroyed markets, and allowing farms to develop and grow. It’s about providing safe drinking water, obtaining the best medical equipment, and making sure the elderly are well cared for. It’s about encouraging youngsters to fulfill their true potential, through sports, school and recreation. (Back to top)

    LIVE LEBANON is a UNDP initiative. Hence, UNDP administers, manages, and oversees all activities of LIVE LEBANON. UNDP’s global experience in project management ensures projects are implemented efficiently and reported thoroughly and transparently. (Back to top)

    • How will LIVE LEBANON accomplish Local Development in Lebanon?

    Local Development in Lebanon is our ultimate aim. LIVE LEBANON seeks to alleviate regional disparities by implementing fast-impact development projects that affect every person in Lebanon. We primarily seek to engage the Lebanese expatriate communities encouraging them to reinstate their ties with their villages and hometowns and to support their local development.(Back to top)

    • Who are current LIVE LEBANON Goodwill Ambassadors?

    UNDP appoints LIVE LEBANON Goodwill Ambassadors to promote the initiative across the Lebanese expatriate communities.     • What kind of projects does LIVE LEBANON promote?

    • Which regions does LIVE LEBANON cover?

    Every inch of Lebanon. LIVE LEBANON does not exclude any region from addressing its development needs. The following are the four regions as organized by LIVE LEBANON: Bekaa, South, North, and Mount Lebanon and Beirut. (Back to top)

    • What are the criteria in selecting projects?

    LIVE LEBANON projects are selected together with local working groups including municipalities, associations and other members of the civil societies. Development projects are therefore selected according to the most urgent needs expressed by the community. (Back to top)

    • Why is my village not listed among your projects?

    Not all Lebanese villages are listed. Not yet. Since LIVE LEBANON was launched in November 2009, 30 villages have been targeted. This number will increase as LIVE LEBANON will make a call for projects soon. However, don’t wait for us to get to your village. If you have an idea for a development project, share it with us and it could become a reality. (Back to top)

    • Does LIVE LEBANON address the Millennium Development Goals for Lebanon?

    Yes, indeed. Many of the Millennium Development Goals are common with that of LIVE LEBANON. Eradicating poverty, constructing educational facilities, equipping local health clinics and ensuring environmental sustainability are all goals LIVE LEBANON seeks to accomplish in all of the deprived areas of Lebanon.     • How can I be involved?

    You choose how. You can choose to distribute fliers around Lebanese communities in Boston or host a fundraising party at your university in Paris. You can promote LIVE LEBANON at your place of work, write an article about us on your blog, or decide to wear a LIVE LEBANON t-shirt once a month. LIVE LEBANON wants you to be creative.     • I do not live in Lebanon, can I still be involved?

    If you live outside Lebanon remember to follow us on Twitter and join our Facebook group discussions. Social media online have no geographic boundaries. Moreover, living outside Lebanon will not make you less involved. In fact, we need you to be more active to promote LIVE LEBANON among the expatriate Lebanese communities. You can decide to put a flier up at your Lebanese restaurant in Montreal or host a fundraising event at your community center.
