Tracking our Progress: Ain Yaccoub and Paradis d'Enfants

UNDP Live Lebanon monitors all of its projects from beginning to end in order to maintain a high degree of transparency while making sure that resources have been used in the most efficient and impactful way. We strive to deliver this kind of information to our supporters, because we believe that to be truly involved in the processes of development, they should be aware of the impact their support is realizing.

Today we are pleased to deliver a short brief on two projects that are nearing completion.  In the North, the basketball and volleyball courts being built at Ain Yaccoub have been nearly completed. (We posted a previous progress update on this project in October) All that remains is the completion of the spectator section, the installing of equipment on the courts, as well as minor cosmetic work. Though wintertime has set in up in Northern Lebanon, the courts will be ready for use by the community as soon as the weather permits. We anticipate following up with the users of these new courts as soon as possible in the coming year.

The construction of the covered area for the playground of Paradis d’Enfants (PdE) is also nearing completion and Live Lebanon went to take speak to school administrators and take pictures at the site last week.  Although the interior renovations that Live Lebanon completed have already been allowing students at the school a warm place to recreate for some time, the covered area will give them more dry space to enjoy their recess throughout the winter. Furthermore, when summer comes around, the children will have a place to play in the shade.

As the Live Lebanon team wraps up these projects, we would like to offer our gratitude to all of those involved. We strongly appreciate our partnerships with the municipality of Ain Yaccoub andthe PdE administration in Jounieh. Most of all, we wish to thank GoodwillAmbassador Ms. Bouran Bouery for her efforts in mobilizing the needed support for these two projects, which will have a positive and lasting impact on the lives of children in both communities.

If you would like to see more pictures from these sites, or speak to one of our team members directly about these (or future) projects, join us on Facebook at
